SACRED MEDICINE SITES
Sacred medicine sites are specific areas in nature that have certain powers and qualities. Tepahtiani healers journey to these places in order to receive spiritual medicine. They make many sacrifices, devoting their lives to receiving this medicine in order to help people. The Tepahtiani must be called by the sacred site and travel there for many years, bringing offerings, devotion and prayers. If successful, the sacred site will bestow its medicine upon the Tepahtiani so they can bring profound healing back to their patients.
TRADITIONAL ELDER
Caporal Mayor don David Wiley
Don David Wiley is an elder in the ancestral Weather Work lineage of don Lucio Campos de Elizalde. As caporal mayor (lineage leader), don David leads pilgrimages, and trains and initiates Tepahtiani healers. He guides the Tepahtianime (pl.) through the rigorous ancient process of deepening into this medicine path, providing a strong foundation for their healing and ceremonial work.
SPIRITUAL HEALING
Healing and a feeling of wholeness come from the balance of the body, mind, and spirit. An imbalance in one of these areas will affect the other areas, bringing distress and dis-ease. Balance is the key ingredient to a satisfying and fulfilling life.
For centuries, Traditional Nahua medicine has brought deep healing to body, mind and spirit. Through this profound healing system, Nahua healers (Tepahtianime) work to remedy dis-ease and bring people back into a state of wholeness, balance and harmony.
